Strictly star Amy Dowden is in great spirits for a day at work as it revealed she will make triumphant comeback for the show’s live tour

Strictly’s Amy Dowden was looking happy and healthy as she joined her co-star Carlos Gu for a day of interviews in Manchester on Wednesday.

The dancer looked delighted to be back at work after MailOnline revealed she will make a triumphant comeback for the Strictly live tour after being forced to bow out of this year’s competition.

Amy looked gorgeous in head-to-toe red for her interview on BBC Breakfast, teaming heels with smart trousers and a festive sweater.

The Strictly favourite was promoting her new tour with Carlos, titled Reborn, which will hit the road next Spring.

But before that, Amy will be back on the dancefloor, performing as part of the Strictly live tour in January.

The professional dancer, 34, was devastated after suffering a stress fracture in her shin, causing her to miss out on the series, which later saw her partner, JLS singer JB Gill, 38, reach the final.

Amy had returned to Strictly this year for the first time after having a mastectomy following her diagnosis with breast cancer, making her injury and having to pull out of the show all the more painful.

Dancer Lauren Oakley, 33 will also star on the tour and compete with JB after taking over from Amy when she fell ill this series.

They are just one of seven pairings who will travel up and down the country in the New Year for the 30-date tour, which begins on January 17 and ends on February 9.

Amy and JB will be joined on the Strictly tour by EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas, Gladiator Montell Douglas and Kai Widdrington, opera singer Wynne Evans and Katya Jones and actor Shayne Ward and partner Nancy XU.

Finalists Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec and Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola complete the line-up of Strictly stars after Saturday night’s final saw Chris McCausland make history by becoming the first blind contestant to ever win the programme.

Winner Chris isn’t appearing on the Strictly tour because he didn’t believe he would remain in the competition for so long, let alone win.

But he will be going on a tour of his own with comedy show Yonks!, which he originally pushed back to appear on the BBC dance series.

Chris said: ‘I started the tour in January this year and I did the first leg till May and then I was meant to be back out again in September but we moved the dates to accommodate Strictly…

‘It just wasn’t really a consideration at the time as I don’t think anyone thought I would be any good at it.’
