‘I don’t like to jinx things’: Strictly’s Oti Mabuse reveals she would consider ‘another role’ on the series – and Johannes Radebe says he would like to see an all-male pairing this year
Oti Mabuse has revealed she would consider another role on Strictly Come Dancing in the future, but probably not as a judge.
The professional dancer, 30, has soared to victory twice on the BBC series but wouldn’t want to join the panel as her sister Motsi is alread a judge.
Oti appeared on Steph’s Packed Lunch on Wednesday alongside fellow dancer Johannes Radebe, 34, who revealed he would like to see an all-male couple on this year’s show.

Asked about becoming a judge, Oti said: ‘I don’t know, I don’t like to jinx things. I feel like my sister’s there and she’s doing such a brilliant job, maybe something else, maybe another role…’
Oti also discussed how, this year, the professional dancers are having to rely on gyms to get into shape for the new series, rather than regular dancing.
She said: ‘It is hard. We’ve never been in this situation of having to go to the gym to get fit. We usually dance, so we are trying to get into it.’
Longtime dancer Anton Du Beke was recently confirmed to be joining the judging panel of this year’s series, replacing Bruno Tonioli.

Motsi joined the judging panel for the 2019 series, replacing Darcey Bussell.
Host Steph also asked Johannes if he would like to be a judge, to which he said: ‘I would love to [become a judge]… Now I’m thinking of it, I’m thinking yes!’
Meanwhile, Johannes told of his hopes for an all-male couple this year following Nicola Adams and Katya Jones’ partnership on last year’s series, the show’s first ever same-sex pairing.
He said: ‘It will be interesting and I’m up for it… We’ve seen it last year and I hope it will be the case this year.’

Asked whether a same-sex couple this year should be all-male, Johannes said: ‘Absolutely!’
Katya and Nicola were forced to withdraw early from last year’s series after Katya tested positive for Covid-19.
