Man United targets Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund and Monaco defender Axel Disasi ‘want to sign this summer’ – in big boost to Erik ten Hag’s plans to revamp his squad before pre-season

  • Monaco’s Hojlund would fit Erik ten Hag’s wish for a striker to join their ranks

Manchester United have reportedly been told that both striker Rasmus Hojlund and defender Axel Disasi want to sign for the club this summer.

Erik ten Hag is reshaping his side after their third place finish in the Premier League, with the Red Devils now having Champions League football in the Dutchman’s second season at Old Trafford.

While there has been strong speculation circulating players including Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Napoli’s Kim-min jae, Man United received some good news about two intended targets.

Monaco’s Disasi and Atalanta’s Hojlund have both reportedly expressed their interest at joining up with ten Hag’s side this summer, according to an article by the Mirror.

Hojlund, hailed as a Danish Erling Haaland for his work up front, is on a shortlist of potential strikers for Man United, who have just two senior forwards on their books.

After just one year with Serie A club Atalanta, it is believed that a £43m bid would be enough for Man United to strike a deal, with the player previously admitting he was a ‘huge fan’ of the club.

Hojlund also brokered a deal with the SEG agency, which also represents ten Hag.

Monaco’s Disasi has also made Man United aware of his desire to swap France for north-west England. He featured in the World Cup final, as they lost in the showpiece to Argentina.

However, Man United’s budget for a defender may be low, with a striker thought of as a high priority, and also the expected cost of bringing Mount to Old Trafford.

The club are also set to move forward with a plan to bring Kim-min jae to Manchester when the clause in his Napoli contract is opened next month.
