Network 10 has called on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for ‘urgent’ assistance following recent reports of ‘serious turmoil’.
On Wednesday reports emerged that Mildura Digital Television, a Network 10 affiliate owned by Seven West Media and WIN Corporation, will be shutting down the channel from June 30.
Residents will no longer have access to Channel 10 or its BOLD and Peach channels.
And now the network has called on Albanese to intervene, reports TV Tonight.
‘We’re bitterly disappointed that regional TV operators are being put in a position that they need to take this action,’ a Network 10 spokesperson told the publication.

‘The Federal Government must act urgently to ensure the Network 10 affiliated channels can continue to be available via broadcast transmission,’ they continued.
‘Regional Australians, including residents around Mildura, love our iconic and award-winning Australian shows such as MasterChef Australia, Have You Been Paying Attention?, Gogglebox and The Cheap Seats to name just a few.’
‘We urge the Prime Minister to urgently intervene and save these regional TV broadcasts,’ they added.

The future of the embattled network owned by Paramount Global is uncertain as it continues to bleed television shows, amid sliding ratings and an ad revenue crisis, reports news.com.au.
On Tuesday, on-air talent Dave Hughes and Osher Günsberg publicly confirmed two of Channel Ten’s biggest reality TV shows, The Masked Singer and The Bachelor, have been axed from the network.
Günsberg confirmed on 2DAY FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin on Tuesday morning that his two programs have no plans to return to screens anytime soon.

‘It’s a really fun show but it’s like anything, things come and go. The show’s not coming back because I did a bad job, I can tell you that,’ he said of The Masked Singer.
Hughes, who sits on the judging panel for the show, added: ‘No, it’s resting. It’ll be back bigger and better than ever.’
Günsberg also confirmed that production on The Bachelors has been halted.
‘I tell you what, I haven’t cancelled our trip to Fiji, which is in the middle of the shooting window we normally have [for The Bachelors],’ he said.
