A religious Sydney school was evacuated on Friday morning after an anonymous bomb threat.

The threat came about 8.20am while kids were arriving at the Lebanese Maronite Catholic school, St Charbel’s College, at Punchbowl in Sydney’s west.

Police attended and students were evacuated to a nearby park, but they have since returned to class.

‘A police operation has concluded at a school on Highclere Avenue, Punchbowl,’ a NSW Police spokesperson said.

‘A building was evacuated as a precaution; however, all people have now returned.

‘There is no threat to the community.’
