Success of hit TV drama Succession makes British writer Jesse Armstrong £9million fortune

He’s the man who put the ‘success’ into Succession, so it’s no surprise that British writer Jesse Armstrong has made a fortune from the hit TV drama starring Brian Cox and Sarah Snook.

Mr Armstrong, 50, has seen the value of his personal company rocket in two years to £9 million, The Mail on Sunday can disclose.

Company accounts for Jesse Armstrong Ltd, of which he is the director, show in 2019 he had reserves of just over £800,000, rising to £3 million in 2020.

That figure tripled in 2021 to more than £9 million.

But father-of-two Mr Armstrong, married to child psychotherapist Milly, is not the type to flaunt his wealth.

Asked recently if he had plans to upgrade his South London townhouse, he replied: ‘We might do a new kitchen.’
