Sunrise viewers left confused over Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington’s bizarre appearance on breakfast show

Matt ‘Shirvo’ Shirvington stunned Sunrise viewers on Friday morning as he debuted a bizarre new look.

The breakfast show host, 45, appeared on the Channel Seven show rocking a very bold monobrow.

Viewers just tuning in will have been confused when Mark Beretta wrapped his latest sports news, only for the camera to return to Shirvo and his strange appearance.

However, closer inspection revealed it was only a bit of black masking tape the TV presenter stuck between his brows as a joke.

Earlier in the show, co-host Monique Wright reported on Oasis announcing their 2025 reunion tour dates for Australia.

Lead singer Liam Gallagher was often known for his unique appearance as he frequently rocked a bold monobrow.

When the segment ended, Shirvo joked, ‘Just hope I can grow that monobrow again,’ referencing the iconic look.

He then threw to Mark, 58, for sports but when the camera returned to Shirvo, he had stuck black masking tape between his brows.

‘Oh, you got a monobrow,’ Monique, 51, said.

‘Yeah, it’s grown back already. That was quick,’ Shirvo deadpanned.

‘You might need a bit more [tape] than that,’ co-host Natalie Barr joked.

It comes as rock legends Oasis are set to head Down Under for a series of concerts next year.

According to a source close to the band, the Britpop chart toppers have reportedly scheduled only two shows in Melbourne and Sydney for their Oasis ’25 Live tour.

The Wonderwall hitmakers will play their first Australian gig at Marvel Stadium on October 31 before heading to Sydney’s Accor Stadium on November 7.

Music magazine Rolling Stone reported news of the first Australia shows on Thursday ahead of any official announcement.

However, fans could be rejoicing as there is speculation the Britpop band will add further gigs to the Australian tour since there is an entire week blocked out in their schedule between the Melbourne and Sydney concerts.

The band have been known to add last minute gigs on their current reunion world tour.

Last week, NME reported that Oasis had already booked shows Down Under.

It will be the first time the band have toured the country in 20 years, after last playing Australia in 2005.
