Super organised mum-of-two Steph Pase reveals exactly how she plans her week

An organised mum-of-two has revealed exactly how she plans her week, and the systems she swears by that help her save money and stay on top of the chores.

Steph Pase, 31, from Sydney, is a ‘planner fanatic’, and uses monthly overviews, weekly planners, daily to-do lists, meal plans, budgets and cleaning schedules to ensure her busy household runs smoothly at all times.

The business owner and mother offered a look at the various planning systems she uses, and revealed how they can help you in your own home.

‘I find as a mum and a business owner that if I plan out my week on a Sunday, then I go into Monday and the week feeling a lot clearer, level-headed and less anxious,’ Steph said in a recent YouTube video.

MONTHLY OVERVIEW

The first thing Steph does on the first day of every month is she sets out her monthly overview.

‘At the beginning of every week and month, I like to look at this because it gives me an idea of what’s on that week and the week ahead of it, and so I can act accordingly,’ Steph said.

Typically, she writes down all of the different tasks she has to complete that month, and then codes them by colour.

For example, in Steph’s planner, work is highlighted in purple, then house and food and cleaning is in blue and health is in green.

‘I also have a monthly focus that I write down, which some months is a health focus and others is a business focus,’ Steph said.

‘Having my month at a glance is so helpful because I can quickly as easily see what I need to do, and then consult my weekly planner from there.’

WEEKLY PLANNER

Once the month is set out and perfectly planned, the 31-year-old said she will turn to the week ahead every Sunday.

‘My planner has sections for everything from day-to-day tasks to habits, my cleaning schedule, meal planning, budgets and my workouts,’ Steph said.

‘Before I plan out the week, I quickly consult my monthly goals.’

Steph’s monthly goals are broken down into four sections: personal, finance, health and social.

Example goals might be to turn her phone off at 9pm, journal each morning, limit herself to one UberEats order each week, workout four times a week and stretch and meditate daily.

‘I look at these goals every week because they are a great reminder and help to keep me motivated during the week,’ Steph said.

From there, Steph will write down the important tasks she needs to complete on that particular week, as well as her daily to-do list.

She will also make a note of her habits, many of which contribute to reaching her monthly goals.

BUDGET

Once the week is organised, Steph checks in with how it corresponds with her budget.

‘I have never been that good with money, but having a whole budget section in my planner helps me to stay organised and motivated to save,’ Steph said.

Not only does the mum make a note of her outgoings and income, but she also has a ‘Savings Tracker’ – where she can keep an eye on things she is working towards buying.

MEAL PLANNER

Next, Steph religiously does a meal plan every week.

CLEANING SCHEDULE

Each day of every week, Steph cleans a specific area of her home, whether it’s the bathrooms on a Monday, the bedrooms on a Wednesday or the kitchen on a Friday.

She said this means she never has to spend an entire day cleaning the house during the weekend.

‘Having my cleaning schedule written down is so useful, because it keeps me accountable,’ Steph said.

She recommends cleaning at home this way, because it means cleaning never feels overwhelming.

DAILY TO-DO LIST

Finally, Steph has a daily to-do list that she consults every day to see what needs to get done.

She also has a ‘master to-do list’ – which helps her to remember all the other things she could be doing if she runs out of chores and still wants to complete something.

‘All of these things work really well for me,’ Steph said.
