Supermodel reveals how Madonna ‘stalked’ her with letters and calls

A former British supermodel, who passionately kissed Madonna in one of her most controversial music videos, has revealed how the star fell madly in lust with her afterwards.

Amanda Cazalet, now a 53-year-old mother-of-two living in St Albans, became the 59-year-old’s object of desire for almost two years after Madonna pursued a romantic relationship with her – despite the model being married to a man at the time.

Last month, an online auction saw a romantically-charged red-inked letter from Madonna to Cazalet go on sale for $50,000 (£37,000).

The missive told Cazalet that she was ‘the most beautiful woman in the world’.

Cazalet toldThe Sun on Sunday that the way Madonna behaved would have been classed as stalking now.

She said: ‘Madonna became obsessed with me.

‘At the time I wasn’t offended but, looking back, I realise I was taken advantage of by someone who, at the time, was my boss.’

The infatuation began after Madonna, who celebrates her 60th birthday in August, watched Cazalet walking for Jean-Paul Gaultier, a close friend and collaborator of the star back in the late 80s.

Cazalet had proved a muse for Gaultier, her figure inspiring many of the designer’s clothes and perfumes including the famous perfume bottle.

Model Cazalet, who had been modelling for six years at that point, went on to feature in Madonna’s music video for her 1990 hit ‘Justify My Love’ and was filmed kissing the star, considered ‘highly controversial’ at the time due to its sexual explicitness.

The short film was shot at the glitzy Hotel Royal Monceau in Paris.

Shortly afterwards, Madonna began sending notes from all over the world, declaring her affection.

In one of the letters penned to the then 25-year-old, Madonna says: ‘I know you are married and pregnant and I cannot explain my attraction – nevertheless it’s there.’

In the note, written in red ink, she tells the model that she is the most beautiful woman in the world and she is dying to kiss her again, signing off ‘love and kisses, M.’
