- Rhonda Joy Ewin has sued Dr Mark Doyle over a procedure in March 2015
- Ms Ewin says Dr Doyle excised a scar below her breast that caused an infection
- She says it meant she needed urgent surgery to remove her breast implants
A cosmetic surgeon is being investigated after a patient accused him of operating on her without consent and botching her breast procedure.
Rhonda Joy Ewin, 67, from Elanora, has sued Dr Mark Doyle, who works at the Gold Coast Plastic Surgery in Tugun, Queensland.
Ms Ewin claims Dr Doyle excised a scar underneath her right breast in March 2015 without her permission and without providing any warning at John Flynn Private Hospital in Tugun, the Courier Mail reports.

The scar was from an earlier breast procedure that was not performed by Dr Doyle.
But she claims that his excision of it led to a ‘serious infection and inflammation’ and meant she needed urgent surgery to remove her breast implants.
Ms Ewin also claims that her breasts were left disfigured as a result of Dr Doyle’s actions and has caused her psychological suffering.
She complained to the Health Ombudsman in June 2015 – and her complaint was referred to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

Ms Ewin’s lawyer told the District Court in Brisbane last month that he had spoken to the AHPRA, who told him their investigation into Dr Doyle is ongoing.
Solicitor Kaine Shanahan, of Gouldson Legal, asked the court for an extension to ensure Ms Ewin’s claims do not expire because of the three-year limitation period.
Ms Ewin’s lawyers also filed a report by a plastic surgeon, Phil Richardson, in court that states Dr Doyle’s surgery was ‘not reasonable’ and a ‘high-risk manoeuvre.’
Daily Mail Australia have contacted Mr Shanahan and the AHPRA for comment. A spokesman for Dr Doyle declined to comment.
