Surprising reason one team will quit The Block – as the ‘toxic’ reason they walked out is revealed

The Block will reportedly lose one of their teams in the coming weeks as the pressure cooker reality show threatens to break-up one unhappy couple.

Jesse Maguire and Paige Beechey from the Blue Team have now been confirmed as the pair who will throw down their shovels in week five and walk off-site for good.

An insider revealed on Wednesday the engaged couple, who are the youngest team this season, will leave the show to save their relationship, reported Yahoo Lifestyle. 

‘Jesse and Paige asked themselves a real question: Is the chance of making money worth risking their relationship?’ a source told the publication.

‘Channel Nine gave them the go-ahead to leave the show after some heated exchanges on their hot microphones. 

‘It was a really tough decision, but both Jesse and Paige believe Australia will embrace their decision positively.’

The Insider went on to say fights between Jesse, 29, and Paige, 27, became ‘pretty toxic’ toward the end and tested the limits of their relationship.

Cracks could already be seen last week when Blockhead Paige crumbled under the pressure of week one and let loose on architect Julian Brenchley.

The claims specialist lost it when the architect pushed back on her plan to relocate the master bedroom to the mezzanine level, separating it from the other bedrooms.

Series co-creator and producer Julian Cress also confirmed earlier this month that one couple will choose to leave the show, but are set to return later in the season. 

While other cast and crew members are said to believe the Perth couple made ‘the right decision’ in quitting, there are concerns viewers will find their exit ‘polarising’.

However, the source also revealed that since leaving The Block, the engaged couple seem happier than ever and ‘get along famously’.

The lovebirds are set to get married later this year and even celebrated Jesse’s 30th birthday with a getaway to Europe alongside their friends. 

Daily Mail Australia previously reported in April that Jesse and Paige will be replaced on-site by sisters from New South Wales.

Maddy and Charlotte were said to have received only 24 hours notice to accept The Block offer and finish the build Jesse and Paige started.
