A 15-year-old schoolgirl feared kidnapped after police released CCTV footage of her on a train with a mystery man has been found in Leeds by West Yorkshire Police.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of abduction after Margaret Moloney went missing from her home in Godalming, Surrey, four days ago.

Video emerged showing her travelling with a stranger on Wednesday on a train departing from Woking, Surrey, that went to Basingstoke, Hampshire.

The man she was with had bought tickets to Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, which is 100 miles from Margaret’s home and officers believe the pair went there together.

Inspector Blaine Rafferty, from Surrey Police said “I want to thank the public and media for their phenomenal support in sharing our appeal to trace this missing teenager, however I now must ask for Margaret and her family to be given the privacy and space to come to terms with what has been a very difficult time for everyone involved.”

Police said Margaret did not have any known links to the Cotswold town and thought she could have caught another train or got off the train at a different station.

Sergeant Dan Smith of Surrey Police said: ‘Margaret, if you are reading this then please make contact with us so that we know you are okay.

‘You are not in any trouble but we do want to hear from you. If you don’t want to speak to police you can call or text the Missing People charity on 116 000.’
