She said: ‘Because when I wake up I look a fright. Frankly, without the help of our incredible hair, make-up and wardrobe team, I wouldn’t look like this either’

She said: ‘We go on air looking like this because we want to look professional and we want to look as good as we possibly can because that’s part of the magic of television.
‘People want to look in a magazine and see great pics. They want to turn on the TV and see Piers in a suit, tie and smart shoes. I do the equivalent. ‘

The star competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014, finishing as runner-up but her marriage to Dominic Cotton ended shortly afterwards.
The star, who previously admitted to still sharing the same house with Dominic shortly after they split, said her work was a welcome distraction during the painful time, with the former couple still having a great friendship.
