Susanna Reid takes to social media to insist her dress is not a dressing gown

‘I did get dressed!’ Susanna Reid laughs off jibes from GMB viewers after they joked that her pink satin dress resembled a DRESSING GOWN

Susanna Reid laughed off jibes from Good Morning Britain viewers on Thursday, after they joked that her pink satin dress was akin to a dressing gown.

The presenter, 50, posted on Instagram after the show to insist that she ‘did get dressed’ for the show that morning, alongside an image of how the dress looked on the website’s model.

Susanna wrote in her post: ‘I just want to point out, I did get dressed this morning. I haven’t come in my dressing gown.’

Noting the funny resemblance to loungewear during Thursday’s show, Ben Shephard joked with his co-presenter by saying: ‘It’s very Margot from the Good Life. I like it as a look.’

Susanna laughed and said: ‘Well, thank you very much. It wasn’t in the dressing gown section.’

The dress can be bought from the M&S and Ghost London collection, and Susanna then admitted: ‘But then I did buy it online.’

With another saying:  ‘Ok has Susanna Reid come to work in her dressing gown [thinking emoji]’

‘Don’t usually comment on what peeps where on telly, but what is Susanna Reid wearing this morning….. looks like one of my satin dressing gowned’s [sic] I had once,’ another viewer wrote.

The Twitter reaction to her outfit comes as Susanna told viewers today that she feels ‘awkward’ at being both an ITV employee and friends with Piers Morgan after Ofcom ruled he didn’t breach its broadcasting code with his criticism of Meghan Markle.

That has led to some calls for the MailOnline columnist to be reinstated as a GMB host after he was forced out by ITV chief executive Carolyn McCall when the Duchess of Sussex allegedly demanded his ‘head on a plate’.

Ofcom completely exonerated Piers of causing ‘harm’ by voicing his opinion that he didn’t believe Meghan’s claims to Oprah Winfrey after they were aired in March.

The broadcasting watchdog said attempts to silence Piers amounted to a ‘chilling restriction on freedom of expression’ – but ITV have so far indicated that he won’t be returning to the show.

Susanna lent her support to her former co-star this morning, telling viewers it was ‘quite a moment’ when he walked off in March after a debate about Meghan Markle.
