Susie O’Neill had an emotional farewell on Thursday morning as she hosted her final ever episode of Nova’s Brisbane breakfast show.
The Olympic swimmer-turned presenter appeared live from a special riverside venue for her final day on Ash, Luttsy & Susie after announcing she would be quitting the show.
In footage shared to Instagram, Susie, 51, became tearful as she read the weather one final time over the airwaves alongside her co-stars Ashley Bradnam and David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral.
Susie, who has been a DJ at Nova for more than 10 years, told her colleagues how much she was going to miss them as she became overwhelmed with emotion.
She also revealed her exciting new career plans as she teased that she has some exciting projects in the pipeline.
‘I said I wanted to stay with the Nova family and yes, I will be. I’m still going to have a gap year,’ Susie began.

‘But I’ve signed up to do some podcasts and fill-in work.’
After her emotional farewell, Susie managed to put on a brave face as she got to work operating the DJ deck at the event.
She rocked her best angles in a black Nova tee and white sunglasses as she made the most of her final ever episode of the program.
Nova have already revealed who will be replacing fan favourite Susie on the breakfast program.
On Wednesday, the radio network announced that controversial comedian Nikki Osborne will be a new addition to the Nova 106.9 Brisbane breakfast team.
The brand new show, titled Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne, will see the popular writer and comedian join Ash Bradnam and David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral in 2025.
The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star, 43, said she has ‘big flippers to fill’, referencing Susie’s career in the pool, but said she was ‘confident’ Brisbane will embrace her.
‘Sure, I get in trouble a bit, but I’ve got two big brothers in Ash and Luttsy and I have no doubt they’ll steer me even further off course,’ she said.

Last month, Susie broke down in tears as she announced her shock resignation from her Brisbane breakfast show.
The presenter tearfully told her Ash, Luttsy & Susie listeners she was immediately stepping down.
‘I do this with a heavy heart, the decision wasn’t easy. It’s hard for me to articulate exactly why I’m leaving,’ Susie began.
‘Turning 50 last year, I realised I’m at a whole new stage in my life. The next chapter will see me pursue other goals, professionally and personally.’
Susie added that she already had some ideas about what the future holds for her.
‘I want to get back to the grassroots of sport and involve myself in the wider community. It’s going to be an emotional final day, saying goodbye to everyone,’ she said.
‘Whatever this next chapter brings, my Nova family won’t be far away.’
She went on to praise her co-hosts Ash and Luttsy for being so encouraging over the years.
Since 2013, she has been a regular on Nova, first as a sportscaster and later as a host alongside breakfast team Ashley Bradnam, Kip Wightman and David Lutteral.
A gifted swimmer, Susie rose to fame at 14, joining the Olympic team and going on to score 35 Australian titles.
