Swarovski cyrstal-covered water bottles priced at $185

Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend but according to Swarovski, crystals are the most glamorous, and expensive, way for her to adorn her water bottle.

The brand has collaborated with trendy water bottle company BKR – popular for its silicone wrapped glass water bottles – on the release of a rather decadent charitable collection of bottles that each feature 500 crystals in the cap.

But while the bottles – which are available in a variety of swoon-worthy shades, such as millennial pink and rose gold – have proven incredibly popular with some, they have also sparked fury among others, thanks to their hefty $185 price tag.

Think pink: Swarovski has released a collaboreation with water bottle brand BKR to create a limited edition bottle featuring 500 crystals on the cap

The new bottles are available in four shades including light pink, mauve, white, and black for the silicone body, with caps sold in silver, rose gold and gold.

Inside the lid of the each bottle is myriad of matching colored crystals.

BKR hailed New York-based Greek artist Lucas Samaras, the man behind the Mirrored Room installation, as the inspiration for the artistic bottle – designed for the woman ‘who has everything’.

While the bottle elevates hydrating into a high fashion activity, the proceeds of the glass will also have an equally high impact with 100 per cent of the proceeds going towards Water For People to bring clean water to needy communities. In fact, each bottle supplies a full month’s supply of water to a person in need.

The bejeweled bottle has pink and crystal loving fans in an uproar for the stylish debut.

‘Words cannot describe how much I need this,’ one Instagram user named Lenita commented on a picture of the newly-released bottle.

‘I’ve never wanted a water bottle so much!!’ fan Tricia commented.

‘How soon before these come to the UK? My inner sparkle goddess needs these!’ British user Amanda gushed.

But some were left in an angry uproar for the bank-breaking price for a bottle that usually costs $35 with the brand.

‘185 for a water bottle?? No! I have a few of these and at 35 they’re the most expensive glass water bottle which shatter easily,’ user Tanya wrote on Instagram.

‘Just gagged over that price tag though,’ an un-amused woman shared.

‘Pretty, but not for the price. Yikes!’ Shae added.

While fans have clamored for the coveted bottle in the comments, the demand has been so high that BKR already has delayed shipping delays for some models of their limited edition sparkly rendition.
