If every artist strives for recognition, Sydney-based illustrator Victoria Watts has struck gold.
In a rare opportunity to get her work out there, the 32-year-old creative was asked to put together a design for the eldest of the infamous Kardashian sisters.
Since receiving her bespoke phone case sporting a customised pattern, the famed mother-of-three has snapped a number of infamous selfies – shining a light directly on the phone case featuring one of Watts’ pieces of art.

The collaboration came to be when a representative of Kardashian’s reached out to Mon Purse, a leather accessory company who customise merchandise
Watts told Daily Mail Australia she’s been incredibly excited by the fact her work has been acknowledged by the famed style muse.
‘She’s been using it ever since she received it (and) posts it all the time.
‘It makes me so happy to see clients loving my work so it’s no different with Kourtney.
‘Every artist strives for recognition and exposure and I couldn’t really ask for better exposure than that.’
The collaboration came to be when a representative of Kardashian’s reached out to Mon Purse, a leather accessory company who customise merchandise, who Watts does freelance work for as an illustrator.
‘She asked the marketing department for a camera bag and we gifted some items to her and her friend Allie with it including the phone case,’ Watts said.

Victoria was understandably excited at the opportunity: ‘every artist strives for recognition and exposure and I couldn’t really ask for better exposure than that’
Victoria does freelance work for the company as an illustrator, crafting many unique and personal designs for clients
It isn’t the first time Watts’ pieces has been noticed by a well-known celebrity-type after documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux approved an illustration of himself for some BBC merchandise when he released work in Australia.
In 2016 she also did an illustration of David Attenborough for BBC worldwide which featured on television screens across Australasia.
‘This was a huge break for me and probably the start of the road I’ve been on recently.
‘It was for a pop up channel aired on Sky New Zealand in celebration of David Attenborough’s 90th birthday.
‘My drawing was used on the test card in between screenings of his documentaries.’

Watts says she is just doing something that she loves.
‘I’ve been painting since as long as I could hold a paint brush. I used to do a lot of commission portraits for family and friends.’
Now she freelances as an illustrator painting handbags exclusively for Mon Purse but paints other items on a freelance basis.
Her work can be found sprawled throughout her Instagram account Since Day Dot.
‘The inspiration for the the name of my account was actually because I’ve been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember – or since day dot.
‘There isn’t much that makes me happier than seeing clients happiness when they receive my work.
‘It’s an intensely personal contribution and I feel as though I’m giving them a part of myself.
‘I want people to fall in love with what I’ve painted for them and I’m always in battle with myself to get the piece of work perfect. I’m an absolute perfectionist.’
Victoria has found a way to channel her passion into a thriving career: ‘there isn’t much that makes me happier than seeing clients happiness when they receive my work’
She said that easily her proudest moment was taking part in the ‘Lucky I’m a Lady’ exhibition at the Lord Gladstone.
‘It was my first exhibition and was all art work of women by women.
‘I couldn’t have been prouder to be involved or happier at seeing my artwork on display.’
The Mon Purse products range from $69 for a phone case up to $499 for handbags.
The painting is an additional cost and starts from $49 upwards depending on the design and intricacy.

She makes certain her customers are happy, saying: ‘I want people to fall in love with what I’ve painted for them and I’m always in battle with myself to get the piece of work perfect’
