Sydney commuter chaos as an accident causes major train delays on three lines

  •  Someone jumped into a gully near Weastmead station cause chaos
  •  Emergency services attended the scene but could not find the person 

Commuters on the way home this evening should expect chaos after a incident at Weastmead station this afternoon.  

Several train services on the Western, North Shore and Northern train lines will impacted, with delays expected.

Sydney trains are warning passengers to expect delays and allow for extra travel time.

‘Allow extra travel time on the T1 North Shore and Northern Lines due to a person injured by a train at Westmead earlier. Listen to announcements and check indicator boards,’ they said.  

Emergency services have confirmed they responded to an incident at the station.  

‘We were responding to reports a person has jumped onto the tracks and that there was an oncoming train,’ the spokesperson said

Emergency crews checked the CCTV footage from the station and saw that the person had landed in a gully before getting up and running away.

They then searched the area for the person but were unable to find them.
