A Domino’s employee says he tried to wrestle a gun from an armed robber when he was shot in the chest and hand – before walking nearly 450 metres to get help.
Anad Singh, 21, was shot twice while working at a pizza restaurant in Wentworthville in the early hours of Sunday morning when an armed offender came through the backdoor of the shop and demanded cash.
‘Then he took out his revolver and I was afraid because maybe he (would) shoot me or my two other friends,’ Mr Singh said from his Westmead Hospital bed.
‘He fired like four times, the first one was near my ears and then the second one on my chest and the third one on my hand.’
Mr Singh still has the bullet lodged in his chest, and will require surgery to have it removed.

Police are still hunting the gunman, who Mr Singh believes may have been affected by drugs.
‘He was really out of mind like maybe he took the drugs,’ Mr Singh said.
Mr Singh says he’s so traumatised he’s not sure whether he can ever return to work at the pizza shop again.
‘Whenever I try to breathe it’s always (hurting) in my chest.’

Police lauded Mr Singh for his bravery.
‘It’s quite amazing in the fact that he was able to walk and seek assistance,’ Inspector Matthew Hyde told reporters in Sydney on Sunday.
‘He’s an extremely brave young person.’
