A clinical nutritionist has shared her new approach to losing weight and claims her latest program will help you lose 10kg in just 10 weeks.
Sarah Di Lorenzo, from Sydney, says unlike alternative diets and ‘quick fixes’ that often only provide short-term results, The 10:10 Diet focuses on ‘losing weight the healthy way and keeping it off long term’.
The 49-year-old has decades of experience and prides herself in changing the lives of others by teaching healthy weight-loss strategies.
Each week the diet plan focuses on another area of health and nutrition that over time will help you establish good food habits, and ultimately a new lifestyle.
The meal plans are strict at times – with some days not exceeding 600 calories – but tend to include delicious foods and occasional sweet treats.

Ms Di Lorenzo says unlike alternative diets that often only provide short-term results, The 10:10 Diet focuses on ‘losing weight the healthy way and keeps weight off long term
‘The 10:10 Diet is designed to only remove fat, without affecting fat fluid and muscle (as many fad diets do),’ Ms Di Lorenzo told FEMAIL.
‘It is a long-term, sustainable approach that addresses all aspects of weight loss – not just the food and diet element – and helps to pinpoint the reason why a person may be struggling to shed weight.’
Ms Di Lorenzo said the diet identifies ‘common road blocks’ someone may face when losing weight and helps you prepare how to navigate through these challenges.
‘It isn’t really a diet at all but the adoption of a healthy way of eating that is kept up well into the future for better ageing and to be able to truly live life to the fullest,’ she said.

As outlined in the book outlining what’s involved with the diet, Ms Di Lorenzo says on average you should lose between 500g and 1.2kg a week.
‘Some clients will lose two to three kilograms at the start of their weight-loss journey. The reason for this is that a diet low in carbs will deplete the blood glucose and the muscles of glycogen,’ she said.
The diet also lets you give in to cravings by allowing small amounts of sweets, such as chocolate.
The 10:10 Diet menu plan features three meals a day with a healthy snack in between meals, such as a piece of fruit or yoghurt
The first week involves learning what to remove or change from your diet in order to make healthier choices.
Ms Di Lorenzo recommends recording your measurements by weighting yourself or taking photos.
During the ten weeks, several days involve only consuming just 600 calories.
‘600 is my magic number for two reasons. Firstly, it boosts weight loss and secondly it serves as a tool for once you reach your goal weight – if you happen to over-indulge one day then you can balance it out by only consuming 600 calories the following day,’ Ms Di Lorenzo said.
The set menu plan features three meals a day with a healthy snack in between meals, such as a piece of fruit or yoghurt.
‘Starting your day with a squeeze of lemon juice in water is great for your skin, digestion, serves as a good dose of vitamin C, potassium boost and is great for weight loss,’ Ms Di Lorenzo said.

By week three, your ‘water weight’ would have dropped making you feel more energised and less fatigued.
Week four focuses entirely on detox smoothies and focusing on yourself and the activities you enjoy.
‘The detox smoothies I recommend in The 10:10 Diet are incredibly nutrient dense, they are healthy, but even still I only recommend for the short term,’ Ms Di Lorenzo said.
‘Once the detox is finished at the end of week six, you will feel ready to tackle the last month of accelerated weight loss and enjoy the rewards of that.’
Weeks seven through to ten include two 600-calorie days.
‘By this stage, you will be very familiar with your fast days and your weight loss during this stage will be around 1 kilogram per week,’ she said.
‘By week ten of the 10:10 Diet you will be an expert in detox, fast days, healthy weight loss, water intake, sleep, moderating alcohol and being kind to yourself.’

‘Once you complete The 10:10 Diet, you can move straight onto The 10:10 Maintenance Program, where you learn a ‘new normal’ style of eating,’ Ms Di Lorenzo said.
‘Once your goal weight is reached, the next steps are learning to eat carbs the correct way – at breakfast and lunch, not at dinner.’
Ms Di Lorenzo says if you follow the diet precisely, you are guaranteed to lose 10kg in ten weeks.
