One policeman was critically injured and another seriously injured after being struck down by a car while setting up a roadside RBT site in Sydney’s west Friday night.
Two Highway Patrol officers were airlifted to Liverpool Hospital with serious leg injuries after being hit on Campbelltown Road, in Woodbine about 8.20pm.
Early reports suggested one of the officers had a leg severed in the collision.

The two male Senior Constables were setting up the RBT site when they were struck.
The driver was not injured and was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
‘RBT on Campbelltown Rd near the skate park, some guy went speeding through took out three cops,’ a witness wrote on Twitter.
‘Three officers run down by a fwit speeding through the RBT, one officer has lost a leg,’ someone else said.

Another witness said police were operating mobile drug testing at the time of the incident.
‘Police were doing MDT and people hit him and one unconscious and other with leg ripped off and flesh everywhere,’ they wrote on Instagram.
The accident reportedly occurred near the Leumeah skate park in Woodbine, more than 50kms south west of Sydney.
Police revealed a ‘critical incident investigation’ had been launched and the crash would be ‘subject to independent review’.
‘A critical incident team will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the incident.’
