Since the rise of the internet, online reviews have become part and parcel of the restaurant trade and often vital to an establishment’s success.
But one diner has taken it upon themselves to critique the Sydney dining scene in their own bizarre way – by assessing the bathrooms instead.
Instagram user Water Closet Snob spends their time rating the hand wash and the softness of the toilet paper rather than slamming the service or dissecting the dessert.

‘Loo paper quality was very poor (not even 1ply) and generic wall mounted hand-soap (probably full of chemicals, not good for your skin) 1/10’.

‘Proper hand towels, great hand soap and the best smelling WC I’ve ever been in (seriously, what was that smell) 9/10 – a classy trip to the loo,’ she wrote.

Paddington’s Four in Hand Hotel was subject to a review criticizing the pub for their inclusion of an electrical appliance in the bathroom
Paddington’s Four in Hand Hotel was subject to a review criticizing the pub for their inclusion of an electrical appliance in the bathroom.
‘The hair straightener in the women’s bathroom has been the subject of intense debate amongst our RWCOS contributors but ultimately came into the negative category (encourages people to congregate in bathroom, potentially hazardous, why didn’t you do this before you left the house etc etc)
Followers of the page were quick to praise the observations and point out the importance of the work being done.
‘Didn’t expect the hair straightener to be a negative, but great point. This is why RWCoS is so important to society as a whole,’ one follower commented.
Despite a respectable seven out of 10, a Four in Hand spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia the hotel was disappointed with the review but would take the comments on board.
‘It’s disappointing to see a negative remark about our hotel but we use such comments to try to improve our establishment in a way that pleases our patrons’ they said.
