A volleyball coach accused of grooming a 15-year-old boy for sex is employed at one of Sydney’s most prestigious high schools.
Brad Wall, 24, a sports coach at the exclusive Barker College, met the teenager at an interstate volleyball event and began engaging with him on social media, police say.
He was arrested at Manly Golf Course – where he also works, according to his Facebook page – on Thursday afternoon following a referral from Victoria Police.
Wall is a prominent figure in junior volleyball circles and was named as one of the coaches of the NSW under-15 side.

Wall, who allegedly made sexually-explicit comments to the boy, has been charged with use carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under 16 and use carriage service for child pornography material (solicit).
Barker Headmaster Phillip Heath told Daily Mail Australia he was ‘shocked, disturbed and deeply saddened’ by the allegations.
‘We have suspended his casual contract pending the outcome of the investigation,’ Mr Heath said.
‘We hastily add that he is entitled to due process. These are allegations but they are charges.

‘I have a duty of care to students and to manage risk. In light of that we have suspended the contract.’
Mr Heath, who stressed that no Barker students were believed to be involved, said parents were informed of the allegations on Friday morning.
Wall, a former student at the college, has been employed at Barker since 2013.
He works primarily as a volleyball coach, but was also involved in drama and student leadership programs.

Shortly after his arrest, investigators carried out a search warrant at a home in Manly, where they seized a computer, electronic storage devices and a mobile phone.
Wall has been granted strict conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on October 25.
Police inquiries are continuing.
