Sydney school students reveal classmates threatened school shooting

The classmates of two teenage girls who allegedly threatened to commit the worst school shooting of the century have revealed the terrifying plan.

Two Year 10 students at Newtown Performing Arts High School made threats in a video submitted to their teacher for a films studies class project on Monday, May 28.

The threatening video was reportedly accompanied by horrific posters plastered across the school buildings and was immediately reported to police.

‘Every time the door opened in class, we were s***ing ourselves,’ one student told news.com.au.

One of the girls allegedly made violent threats towards a male classmate who was too terrified to walk home after she told him: ‘I’ll f***ing kill you first’.

The video, which features gunshot sounds, reportedly started by claiming ‘On 12th June, 2018, (student’s name) and (the other student’s name) committed the worst school shooting of the century’.

The two girls also allegedly threatened gay and transgender students and set fire to a couch with the word ‘jocks’ written on it, the publication reported.

The Year 10 students were suspended last week until today – a day after their vile threats which appeared across the school’s bathrooms.

The school issued a letter to parents this week to inform them about the incident after rumours started to surface.

‘You are receiving this email today as we have been made aware of some rumours going around among the student body concerning the safety and security of the school tomorrow,’ the school said in a letter seen by the The Daily Telegraph.

‘These rumours are false and relate to an event that the school has managed appropriately, in consultation with the police and our Director, Virginia Pacey.’

The police assured parents and the wider community there was no threat to students’ safety.

‘Due to threatening nature of video students were spoken to and the incident was managed by the school in consultation with police,’ police told Daily Mail Australia.

A spokesman for the Department of Education said the two girls responsible for the video had been disciplined.

Daily Mail Australia contacted Newtown Performing Arts High School, but the school refused to comment on the incident.
