Sydney socialites Ellie and Charlie Aitken reunite for Italian vacation

Twist in high-society marriage bust-up as Sydney socialites Ellie and Charlie Aitken REUNITE for their son’s ninth birthday in Italy… after he ran off with her best friend Hollie Nasser

Sydney socialites Ellie and Charlie Aitken have reunited following a tumultuous year that saw their marriage of 19 years break down.

The couple, who confirmed their split in May, are currently on holiday together in Italy with their two children and Ellie’s mother Celia.

The Aitkens flew business class to Europe before spending time in Capri on a superyacht, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Photos shared to social media show the family smiling as they spend time together celebrating son William’s ninth birthday.

It’s still unclear if the former couple are officially back together or not.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Ellie Aitken for comment.

Ellie’s life was turned upside down in late 2021 when her businessman husband Charlie ran off with her best friend Hollie Nasser – ending two marriages.

The move sent shockwaves throughout their tight-knit eastern suburbs circles, particularly since Hollie was not only Ellie’s best friend, but married to Charlie’s business partner Christopher.

‘The truth is that despite the support of friends and family I have not coped well with the deeply hurtful lies, gossip and innuendo that has surrounded the breakdown of my relationship,’ Ellie said in a statement in December.

At the time, she announced she would be ‘taking a break from social media’ and public view while she and her family adjusted to the separation and her estranged husband’s new relationship.

‘I had attempted to put on a brave face and tried to manage my feelings and wellbeing despite the fact that I have not had any control over the reasons for my sorrow,’ she said.

Despite the drama, the Aitkens remained on good terms throughout the separation for the sake of their two children.

In May, Daily Mail Australia revealed Hollie and Charlie had quietly parted ways, noting the public pressure was too much for them to bear.

Hollie later confirmed the news to Sunday Confidential, saying in a statement the relationship was over and she was focusing on her children.

‘With regards to my private life, my focus is my daughters [and] I have chosen not to be in a relationship,’ she said.

She went on to praise her estranged husband Christopher Nasser, saying the pair were working together to co-parent their children.

‘Chris has always been a loving and devoted father. We are working together to co-parent our children,’ she said.

She also reflected on having her affair thrust into the spotlight.

‘The past nine months have been very difficult and I have expressed my apologies to my family and others involved,’ she said.
