An emerging AFL superstar has had dozens of photos of himself performing sex acts leaked online without his consent.

Sydney Swans midfielder Chad Warner, 21, is at the centre of the scandal after the images surfaced on Friday.

The club said it was aware of the photos and is ‘working with the e-safety commissioner to stop the further spread of the images’.

The photos of the footballer are not recent and no one else was visible in the images.

The AFL is aware of the photos. There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing by Warner.

Warner was the 39th pick at the 2019 draft when he was recruited by Sydney, and has impressed in his third season.

He’s made a name for himself in his breakout season at the Swans this year and is expected to take to the field as planned for Saturday’s match against the GWS Giants at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday.

Some pundits believe he will win a Brownlow Medal before he turns 25 – and he is a dark horse to claim the AFL’s highest individual honour this year.

‘Chad Warner will win a Brownlow Medal at some stage of his career,’ respected footy journalist Damien Barrett wrote earlier this month.

‘He might even close hard in voting for the 2022 award.

‘We are witnessing the arrival of a very special and super talent in the form of this 21-year-old.’
