Sydney socialites’ calendars have been heaving with events in recent weeks.

There was Justin Hemmes’ exclusive Silver Party just last weekend, swiftly followed by all the glamour of Sydney Fashion Week.

And the city’s elite braved the rain as they stepped out yet again to celebrate socialite Olivia Bond’s 40th birthday at Neptune’s Grotto on Sunday night.

The guest list included eyebrow queen Kristin Fisher, heiress Amanda Valmorbida and her husband Tim Holmes à Court as well as designer Kate Bond.

Guests were snapped with hoods and umbrellas as they rushed across the city in heavy rain.

And it wouldn’t be an eastern suburbs soiree if the guests weren’t all gossiping about one thing. At this particular birthday shindig, the question on everyone’s lips was: Why host a party on a Sunday?

However, it didn’t stop guests from dressing to the nines and braving the inclement weather to celebrate the the Australian based jeweller and gemologist’s milestone birthday.

Ben protected himself from the rain by covering his head with his hands before entering the venue.

Meanwhile, Kristin Fisher covered her freshly styled locks with a blazer as she arrived with Camilla Speers.

Barbara Coombes was also seen rushing inside with her property tycoon husband Michael Coombes as the rain poured.

Patrick Johnson, a custom men’s tailor who founded P. Johnson in 2009, was seen chatting to other guests outside the venue.

Eastern Suburbs ‘Pilates Queen’ Bernadette Sukkar (née Fahey) was also a guest at the party.

She recently cemented herself in the centre of Sydney’s social scene after marrying her property developer husband Jordan Sukkar.

In recent weeks, she’s attended some of high-society’s most exclusive events, including the Silver Party and The Feast.

The Silver Party is one of Sydney’s most prestigious charity galas which is held annually by the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.

This year it was hosted at billionaire pub baron Justin Hemmes’ multimillion dollar Vaucluse mansion with a very exclusive guest list.
