Sylvia Jeffreys and Karl Stefanovic salivate over video of a ripped Billy Slater working out

Hosts of The Today Show audibly ogled over footy player Billy Slater as they watched him perform an innocent warm-up routine with his rugby top off.

As footage of the ripped Melbourne Storm player rolled, Sylvia Jeffreys, Karl Stefanovic and Deb Knight couldn’t contain their admiration.

‘Can we see that again?’ Jeffreys begged, before Stefanovic added, ‘I mean just delicious isn’t he hey?’

The trio then began to guess what Slater was doing, with Jeffreys suggesting maybe he was ‘releasing the fascia’ – a method of relaxing contracted muscles.

‘Is that a German term?’ Stefanovic questioned, before Jeffreys joked back ‘I don’t know, you’ll have to ask a physio’.

Stefanovic offered commiserations to Slater for Sunday’s grand final loss to the Sydney Roosters, but commended him for having the ‘greatest rig in football’.

‘All though he might be upset about the grand final loss, he still has much to celebrate,’ Stefanovic said, alluding to the recording of Slater wearing nothing but rugby shorts.

‘He’s a fit unit,’ Knight added.

The retiring Melbourne superstar was looking to end his 319-game NRL career with another premiership at ANZ Stadium.

But the game didn’t go to script, with the Sydney Roosters crushing the Storm 21-6.

‘This finish is not how we planned, but that’s footy,’ Slater told Channel Nine.

‘We tried our best, but that is the way it goes sometimes.’
