Sylvia Jeffreys reveals the secret behind the perfect family holiday

Today Extra host Sylvia Jeffreys has revealed her secrets for creating the perfect family holiday.

The Sydney-based mother-of-two, 39, shared her top recommendations for crafting the perfect family getaway based on her recent trip to the Gold Coast in May.

Writing for Nine Travel, the media personality explained how revisiting childhood locations allowed her children to create their own special memories while fostering a sense of tradition.

‘The 5 kilometre jog back to Surfers Paradise was powered by my excitement that my children were about to begin building their own core holidays memories in the place where I forged mine,’ she wrote.

‘Sometimes a big dose of the “familiar” is just what the doctor ordered,’ she explained.

The media personality also emphasised the need to strike a balance between children’s enjoyment and parental relaxation.

‘Successful family holidays depend on a little quid pro quo,’ she admitted.

‘We all know the balance tends to tip heavily in favour of those most likely to tantrum, but us mums and dads have got to take the wins where we can get them.’

Last August, Sylvia revealed that despite her flourishing career, family is her number one priority.

The Today show star told The Daily Telegraph that she always makes time for her two young sons.

‘I don’t take for granted the fact that I do manage to get quite a bit of balance in that respect in my life,’ the beauty said.

‘Because more than anything, I just want to be with my kids, especially while they’re this age,’ she went on.

‘I know that’s the most important thing in life, so I try to make sure I squeeze as much out of those hours in the day as I can, every day.’

Sylvia and husband Peter Sefanovic recently placed their Double Bay terrace on the market for $4.5million.

It is understood the journalists want a bigger home with room for their growing family.

The luxury two-story abode within the cosmopolitan eastern suburbs cost the couple $2.7 million back in 2016.

The couple tied the knot at the Ooralba Estate in Kangaroo Valley on April 1, 2017.

In 2020, Sylvia and Peter, 42, welcomed their first son, Oscar.

Just eight months later, the TV presenter revealed that she was pregnant with her second child, a son, Henry.
