T-Mobile suffers nationwide outage as thousands report they have no signal

Thousands of Americans across the US reported drops in their T-Mobile cell phone service Wednesday, with as many as 3,767 complaints coming in at 3:30pm Eastern.

Major US metropolitan areas including Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston and Minneapolis appear to have been the worst hit by the outage.

Thousands began reporting complaints from 2:30pm Eastern on into the early evening, according to the site Down Detector, with signal strength appearing to return in some areas by 5:30pm Eastern time.

While T-Mobile has not yet issued an explanation for the outage, the telecom’s social media presence, @TMobileHelp on X, has been responding to public complaints requesting customers move their conversations to ‘direct messages’ (DMs).

‘Please send me a DM with your exact address so we can work together on a resolution to ensure you have service.’
