Taika Waititi reveals the ‘secret’ New Zealand beach he and wife Rita Ora love to visit on holiday

Taika Waititi has shared his favourite spot to whisk his wife Rita Ora away to when the couple are in his homeland of New Zealand. 

The director loves to visit Tunnel Beach in Dunedin, New Zealand, referring it to his ‘secret’ spot. 

‘The little beach with the little secret tunnel with the steps that you go down is amazing,’ Taika told news.com.au. 

‘I like the little hidden-away places where you have to walk to get to them’ the 48-year-old added. 

A website for the beach encourages visitors to ‘Explore the sea-carved sandstone cliffs, rock arches and caves at Tunnel Beach’. 

It also suggests tourists, ‘look for fossils as you descend through the pioneers’ hand-carved tunnel.’

Rita recently travelled around New Zealand with her filmmaker husband Taika, exploring everything the country has to offer. 

Giving an insight into her travels, the former Voice Australia coach shared pictures and videos of herself flying in a helicopter over a waterfall and exploring snow-covered mountains in Queenstown.

Rita and Taika, who tied the knot in August 2022, split their time between London and New Zealand.

Taika’s two daughters, who he shares with his ex Chelsea Winstanley, are based in the country.

He was previously married to film producer wife Winstanley for six years before they separately quietly in 2018. 

Rita also recently shared one of her favourite skincare items – and it comes from a New Zealand brand.

The British pop star revealed that she is a big fan of Emma Lewisham’s Supernatural Vitale Face Elixir.

‘Wow, wow, wow. Nature’s Botox’ the 33-year-old wrote in a recent Instagram Stories post. 

‘I’m in my ’30s now honey, I gotta try it all’ she continued.
