  • Alyson Gurney, 24, from Washington, DC, creates felt sculptures of people’s pets
  • Artist has become popular on social media thanks to the lifelike felt creations
  • Currently getting overwhelmed with requests and has a four-month waiting list

A talented artist who creates incredible tiny replicas of beloved animals using felt has revealed she’s already overwhelmed with a four-month waiting list after becoming popular online.

Alyson Gurney, 24, from Washington, DC, felts the wool together in incredibly accurate sculptures while carefully studying photos of the pets – which mostly include dogs but also feature cats, rabbits and even hedgehogs.

She says her pet sculptures, which she posts across her social media accounts, have become so popular that she is currently getting overwhelmed with requests and has a four-month wait-list.

The artist said: ‘My favourite part of the whole process is receiving pictures of the real pets with their little felted friend. It is such a joy to realise how much people love their pets, sometimes it’s the little things in life that bring us the most joy.’

She added:  ‘Each month I am completely shocked at how fast they sell out! My wait-list is currently four-months-long due to the influx of orders I receive.

‘I’m ecstatic to know that my customers trust me in recreating the likeness of their pet, they all come together to capture each unique personality.’
