A talented 15-year-old show jumper and rugby player has died after suffering an adverse reaction to a substance she had taken at an end of exam party.
Hannah Bragg was a student at Tavistock College in the West Devon market town and died after apparently taking drugs.
Tavistock Girls Rugby Team, in Devon, paid tribute to Hannah, who they described as the ‘most lovely and unassuming girl.’
Hannah had played for the club for three years and was described as an ‘incredible member of our team and the whole club.’
She was the ‘most lovely and unassuming girl’ would be ‘sorely missed’, the club added.
A statement from Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called at about 4.15pm after Hannah had been found near a disused viaduct and was thought to have taken an unknown substance.
‘[She] was taken to Derriford Hospital where she was sadly pronounced deceased,’ the statement continued.

‘A 14-year-old boy, also from the Tavistock area, was also taken to Derriford Hospital in a critical condition. He is now recovering in hospital.’
Hannah was a member of the East Cornwall Hunt Pony Club and had been awarded the club’s most improved rider award in 2016.
Paying tribute Julia Bassett, of the ECHPC, said Hannah’s mother Karen Bragg had asked people to share their memories of her daughter online.
She said: ‘I am sure by now that most of you will have heard about the tragic and incredibly sad news relating to Hannah Bragg.
‘Hannah had been a member of ECHPC for a number of years and was always polite and kind and did well in representing the club in a number of disciplines, most recently by being in team at Lyneham house.
‘Hannah was a regular attendee and supporter of rallies with her lovely pony Micky.
‘Hannah was awarded the club’s most improved rider award in 2016 for all the hard work she put into producing her pony from the cheeky chap he was when they first joined to the fantastic all-rounder he turned into, which was very well deserved.
‘I am sure you will all join us in sending our condolences to Hannah’s family at this heartbreaking time.’
Sarah Jones, principal of Tavistock College, said the school was in mourning for the Year 10 pupil.

She said: ‘The loss of this young lady will impact on all of us in many ways. She was a lovely, caring, talented and popular student who will be missed by everyone who knew her.
‘Always seen about school with a smile on her face, she had everything to live for. Her friends are grief stricken that she should be taken at such a young age.’
Friends have left flowers, balloons and heartfelt messages at the scene of the tragedy, near a disused viaduct in the town on Saturday.
One card said: ‘To the most beautiful angel in the sky, me and Harry will miss you so much. Harry will grow up knowing his auntie was [a] beautiful, kind hearted girl.’
Another said: ‘You have always been the epitome of beauty and kindness. Growing up with three brothers, you always held your own with elegance, grace and composure.
‘You were the cutest girl and blossomed into a lovely woman. Everyone who came into contact with you adored you.’
