Talented young lawyer dies suddenly at the age of 26 – leaving behind a devastated girlfriend and mourning family

A talented young lawyer has died suddenly at the age of 26. 

Stuart Efstathis, from Brisbane, died on October 17 as a result of an ongoing respiratory condition.

He leaves behind a heartbroken girlfriend, Helenna Dohle, and devastated family.

Mr Efstathis worked as an intellectual property lawyer at Eaglegate Lawyers.

He was also a passionate self-taught photographer.

Principal lawyer Nicole Murdoch said Mr Efstathis would be remembered as a talented and passionate young man. 

‘Stuart had considerable experience working with respected Intellectual Property barristers as well as working as an associate with State and Federal Court Judges,’ she told the Courier Mail. 

‘Stuart was building a solid reputation in copyright law, trade mark strategy and infringement and patent interpretation and infringement matters. 

‘Stuart made a very positive contribution to the practice of law in Queensland and would be mourned by the profession.’

Mr Eftstathis’ girlfriend shared a touching tribute on Facebook, changing her profile picture to a loving photo of the pair together.

Her father also took to social media to share his condolences, writing: ‘It is with a very heavy heart we share this post, the passing of the beautiful soul of this brilliant young man. Love you Stuey.’
