Tamara Ecclestone reveals she still breastfeeds daughter Sophia, four

She showed herself to be a doting mum in her recent hit reality series Tamara’s World.

And Tamara Ecclestone appeared on Friday’s This Morning for a parenting debate, revealing she has never left her daughter, Sophia, four, for a night.

Tamara took part in a debate alongside journalist Mel Fellowfield, stemming from criticism of young mum Kylie Jenner, 20, who left her daughter Stormi, two months, over the weekend to party at Coachella.

Tamara insisted that she didn’t want to be critical of other mums, but was keen to discuss her own experiences as a mother, explaining that partly due to the fact she still breastfeeds Fifi at night, she has never left her for more than a couple of hours.

‘I still breastfeed her in the night, I’ve talked openly about that, it’s a personal decision,’ Tamara told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

‘I really don’t have a desire to [go away], I go out for dinner with my husband, but I come back to her and I like to make sure she’s ready in the morning.’

Tamara confessed that Fifi will join her and husband Jay Rutland for their fifth wedding anniversary celebrations.

‘It’s my fifth wedding anniversary soon and Fifi’s coming. I can see it as a problem when Jay is like “get her out of the bed”,’ she added of their co-sleeping arrangements.

‘No one can care for your child as well as you can, if I was to leave Fifi I would leave her with my sister, I do have a trust issue, but I like to be there,’ Tamara continued, explaining she’s been inspired with her parenting style from her parents – Formula 1 boss Bernie and his ex wife Slavica.

‘We were always together as a family unit, if my dad was away my mum would take us with her, I’m not judging anyone, because I’ve had a lot of criticism for my parenting, but it’s something I don’t have a desire to do,’ she said.

‘Me and Jay love to do things together, we’re on the same page he’s not a needy man. ‘

But Tamara is getting used to the idea of being apart from her beloved Fifi, as the tot starts school in September.

‘She is the most free-spirited adventurous child, she’s very social and she’s looking forward to going to school,’ Tamara gushed.

Mel Fellowfield, a mother of two sons, meanwhile openly admitted she went on a night out when her son was just three weeks old.

‘My son was about three weeks old when I went on a night out to a party. I felt no guilt. I never produced any milk at all,’ Mel, who didn’t breastfeed, explained.

Tamara quipped that she had the opposite problem in the newborn days, remarking: ‘I was literally leaking milk so I literally couldn’t go anywhere’.

‘It was fine I went out and my husband was at home with the baby,’ Mel continued, pointing out: ‘You don’t hear anyone saying how dare he go out? They’re off to wet the babies head.’
