In the three years since she’s been born, it’s been well documented that little Sophia Rutland leads quite the charmed life, thanks to her parents’ wealth.
But on Wednesday night, her mother Tamara Ecclestone was shown on TV looking beside herself as she prepared to be separated from her tot for the first time ever, as she prepared to leave home for her first day at nursery.
On the recently-debuted reality show Tamara’s World, the daughter of Formula One billionaire boss Bernie Ecclestone told her husband Jay Rutland: ‘I’m worried that they’ll make her wipe her own poo. She’s not ready for that… This is so awful!
Fretting: On Wednesday’s episode of Tamara’s World, Tamara Ecclestone was seen fretting as she prepared to send her three-year-old daughter Sophia off to nursery
Speaking earlier in the day as the day of reckoning dawned, Tamara revealed: ‘I’m feeling exhausted, I’ve hardly slept… I’m worried, but at the same time I’m trying to keep things as normal as possible for Fifi… Today is an awful day. Today is a tragedy.’
Added Jay: ‘Today is Sophia’s first day at school. She’s still only diddy and she is our little baby, so packing her off to kindergarten is tough, especially for Tamara, because she spends all of her day with Sophia.’
And while Tamara, who continues to breastfeed her daughter, could see the benefits in her child venturing out in the wide world, she admitted that she wasn’t quite ready to let go just yet.
Hugs: The mother-of-one was seen hugging her child as she dropped her off on her first day

She said: ‘I’m all for Fifi being independent on her own agenda. The times that I don’t feel OK is when I’m forcing her to do something that makes her feel sad, because that makes me feel sad, to.’
As the doting parents boarded a chauffeur-driven vehicle to take their daughter to school, things were seen going awry when Sophia started to scream about being separated from her mother, from whom she had never been apart beforehand.
And Sophia, lovingly dubbed ‘Fifi’ by her parents, was also unimpressed with the impending big moment, crying and screaming in protest as her mother hugged her and tried to calm her down.
Arrival: Tamara kept a firm hand on her daughter as she helped her disembark the vehicle
Doting parents: Little Sophia’s attentive parents held each of her hands as they walked with her

The parents eventually saw their daughter off, before heading out to enjoy breakfast together as Tamara anxiously waited the three hours to get her daughter back.
Speaking to the cameras, Tamara admitted: ‘I definitely feel that when I’m with Fifi that I’m at my happiest. And it probably sounds selfish, but I’m unhappy that she’ll be away from me. I have to be honest… The thought of it is not good for me.’
In an attempt to reason with his wife, Jay said of their sole offspring: ‘She’s got to stand on her town two feet at some point,’ to which Tamara responded: ‘She’s a baby, she doesn’t have to stand on her own two feet yet.’
Grownups: After dropping Sophia off at school, Tamara and Jay went for breakfast together
Worried: The F1 heiress admitted that she was worried about how her daughter would settle in
Praise: While Tamara had a number of detractors, many Twitter users also expressed their understanding of the way she struggled to separate from her daughter
However, with FIfi’s first day at school being a success, Tamara found herself facing another major hurdle during the episode, when she contemplated whetheer she could handle being away from her daughter as she slept at night.
With Jay launching his Maddox Gallery in Westbourne Grove – close to their palatial Kensington home – the couple discussed the logistics of Tamara attending without her trusty little sidekick, which would mean leaving her at home for the first time.
‘She is older, she is getting her independence a little bit, so maybe it’s time for me to… focus on Jay so he doesn’t feel left out,’ Tamara reasoned after agreeing with her husband that it would be better if their child was left at home for the night.
She’s back! Tamara was delighted to be reunited with Fifi three hours after dropping her off
Daddy’s girl: The tot FaceTimed with her father and told him all about her first day at school
Happy: Sophia appeared to be happy with her day away, despite her initial apprehension
‘Everything happens for a reason and is this now the time when I can venture into the big wide world. And i’d like to spend more time with Jay.’
In the end, she decided to trick her daughter into believing she would be spending the night at home, by getting her hair and makeup done by her glam squad before throwing on some pink pyjamas and staying in bed with Fifi until she was asleep.
Tamara said of leaving Fifi at home: ‘I’m so nervous. I’ve had the worst anxiety attack… I have to lie. I can’t tell her I’m going out. I’ll have to get in bed with full glam and my pjyamas. I feel like I’m sneaking out when I was 14!’
Glam: Later in the episode, Tamara was seen getting glammed up for Jay’s gallery opening
Worried again: The heiress admitted that she was nervous about having to leave Sophia home
The whole tooth and nothing but the tooth: Tamara changed into pyjamas after getting ready
Likely story: She then read Fifi a bedtime story and saw her off to sleep, in a bid to convince her daughter that she was spending the night at home
She continued: ‘It’s gonna feel really weird going out in the adult world… but it’s a big night for Jay.’
After successfully getting Fifi off to sleep, Tamara then had another assistant to stop by to help her get into a plunging velvet minidress before making the journey to the gallery, where she was met by her visibly impressed husband.
As the event drew to a close, Jay gushed: ‘The night was a success, but mainly for me having my wife there and her looking so beautiful… and also putting herself out of her comfort zone and leaving Sophia at home.’
Of successfully separating herself from her daughter for the night, Tamara admitted: ‘It does feel good. It’s like ripping the plaster off. And also I know that it can be possible for the future.’

During last week’s episode of the ITVBe show, Tamara divided viewers as she defended her decision to breastfeed Sophia.
Explaining her decision, the F1 heiress explained: ‘As soon as Fifi [Sofia’s pet name] was born she headed straight to the boob!’ For her it’s such a natural thing and we should continue.’
Tamara’s husband Jay added: ‘She believes in breastfeeding, she believes quite passionately in it. I support her in anything she wants to do. I think she’s doing the right thing. It’s the most natural thing in the world.’
The heiress reasoned: It’s not just about food, it’s about comfort and i think that’s really important for mother and child. It’s the right thing for me and Fifi and you just have to get on with it and not care about what anyone else thinks.’
