Taminmin College school camp: Kids missing in remote part of Australia, desperate search launched

A desperate search continues for two students who vanished from a remote camp site while on a school excursion in the Northern Territory.

Two high school-aged students from Taminmin College in Humpty Doo didn’t return to the Jabiru camp ground on Thursday night.

The students were on a school camp 200km away from home at the time.

Taminmin College principal John Harris addressed the incident in a school newsletter on Friday.

‘Police have been notified and are working with the families to find the two missing students and return them home,’ Mr Harris wrote.

‘The other students who attended the camp have returned to the school and will be supported by staff and the school’s counsellor.

‘Our school is working with the families of the missing students and also acknowledge(s) this incident may be distressing to others, so please reach out to me if you feel your child/ren needs further support.’

Located 256 km south of Darwin, Jabiru is the main township in Kakadu National Park.
