Tammin Sursok breaks down in tears as she and husband Sean McEwen welcome new family member on her 40th birthday

Tammin Sursok has shared a video of herself breaking down in tears after her husband Sean McEwan gave her a very special gift for her 40th birthday.

The former Home and Away star, who is holidaying in Bali with her family, took to Instagram on Saturday to share the big news. 

‘My husband just gave me my gift for my birthday.’ she told the camera, wiping away her tears in the joyful moment. 

‘This is it,’ she added, before sharing a photo of an adorable white puppy with a pink ribbon around her neck. 

‘After losing our pup, Pinky is waiting for us,’ she wrote. 

It comes after Tammin revealed why she was worried about turning 40.  

Speaking to Stellar magazine in July, the Pretty Little Liars star said she wasn’t nervous about getting old, but feared ‘what that represents’.

‘I think the fear of turning 40 is just I don’t want to work less. I remember having my first kid and they said I was no longer an ingenue – I was 29 years old’.

Tammin has been candid about her body image struggles in the past, admitting that she ‘desired to be wanted, to be lusted over’ as a young girl and struggled with an eating disorder.

Posting a series of heartbreaking stories to her Instagram in honour of International Women’s Day, the actress reflected on the devastating effects she suffered being objectified by men.

The first story she shared was about a young boy she had a crush on who told her she needed to lose weight at the age of 15.

She revealed she was ‘paralysed in fear and lust’ when he approached her, saying: ‘My heart stopped. I had daydreamed for years that this moment would come.’

But her dream came crashing down when the boy brutally told her: ‘You need to go to Jenny Craig [weight loss program].’ 

Tammin lives in Nashville with husband Sean McEwen and their two daughters, nine-year-old Phoenix and four-year-old Lennon.
