A young mother with a wildly popular fitness empire and enviable Instagram following has revealed her success stemmed from a blurry bathroom selfie.
Tammy Hembrow, a Queensland mother-of-two, boasts seven million social media fans and is arguably one of the most recognisable Australian faces on the photo-sharing app.
The 23-year-old says her phenomenal success can be traced back to a fuzzy photo she uploaded online back in 2013 which triggered an international obsession.

‘I never imagined that my following would be as big as it is now. My fans inspire me to keep pushing further and I hope to give back to my followers by sharing knowledge, experiences and expertise,’ Tammy told Husskie.
‘When I was pregnant with Wolf, I spent a lot of nights in while my friends were all out, and so I started watching makeup tutorials and taking photos. I realised that this was something I really enjoyed doing so I started to share my fitness goals and journey as well.’
Tammy, who is mother to son Wolf, two, and Saskia, one, runs her own athleisure business Saski Collection and even piqued the interest of Khloe Kardashian as a model for her jeans brand.

‘I pride myself on being a young mum who is educated and hardworking, but who also loves fashion and makeup. This is the person I want to show my followers, even though there is much more to me than those characteristics,’ Tammy added.

Cruel comments, prying eyes and derogatory remarks are not hard to find lurking amongst the thousands of messages of support on each of Tammy’s posts.
‘I think sometimes people need to be reminded that I’m a person and I see their comments. So if you write something mean and I see it, I will probably block you,’ she told the publication.
Tammy frequently models her own fitness brand and publishes her healthy dieting and workout regimes, particularly for women post-pregnancy.
‘I don”t want women to give up after having a baby thinking their body is ruined or will never be the same,’ she writes on her website.
‘The truth is that it probably won’t ever be the same, but it can be even better!’
