Tanya Hennessy has revealed the worst Christmas gifts she has ever received.
Speaking to Daily Mai Australia about her childhood Christmases, the comedian and author recalled receiving a computer and rollerblades, emphasising the importance of thought over the value of a gift.
She said she believed in celebrating people in her life and making them feel special through her gifts, considering it her ‘literal love language.’
The conversation took a humorous turn when Hennessy recounted an incident where she received a gift she had given someone the previous year.
‘One year I got a gym membership and I was like, ”no”. You know, people are so mean.’

She also mentioned receiving a nose hair trimmer, a gift she found rather suggestive and insulting.
‘I was like, well,”this is suggestive”. Maybe I do need to see a waxer more regularly,’ she joked.
‘You know when people just give you, like, the gym membership, that was like, back in the day. You know, like, early 2000s – no one would do it now, hopefully.’
Taking it in stride, she joked about the situation and emphasised the convenience of finding good deals online.

Hennessey also admitted to spending a fortune on Christmas decorations.
‘I’m that kind of person who’s probably in debt about $10,000 on decorations alone,’ she said.
‘I don’t really buy anything except for Christmas decorations, people are like, ”where do you spend money?” because I don’t look particularly good, and it’s on Christmas decorations. I just go hard
She even traveled to New York one Christmas to live out her ‘Home Alone fantasy.’
