Target Australia’s $90 dupe of a sell-out $710 set stuns shoppers: ‘Best buy of 2024’

Fashion fans are rushing to Target to get their hands on a $90 shirt and pants set after a shopper noticed its similarity to a designer version costing over $700.

Target Australia’s Blend Short Sleeve Resort Shirt and Linen Blend Print Wide Leg Pants in the garden tile print look very similar to luxury brand Alemais’ Gisela shirt and pants.

Aussie stylist Brooke Falvey was so impressed with the affordable find that she gushed about it to her 90,000 followers on Instagram.

‘Remember when I sent everyone into a frenzy with this shirt last year that was a bit of a Zimmermann dupe from Target? Well, they’ve done it again. It’s more of an Alemais vibe,’ Brooke said.

‘It’s really easy to throw on and layer with a bit of jewellery, a bag and a pair of slides.’

Brooke loves the loose-fitting design for its soft material and casual fit that is perfect for warmer weather – and her fans were obsessed as well.

‘I loved this so much I just jumped online and bought it! Hope it arrives before I head to Bali,’ one woman said.

‘Thank you for influencing me, I missed out on that last print but just nabbed this one,’ another said.

While most people loved the easy summer look, a few woman were concerned it was a little too casual.

‘I like the set, but is it just me or does it give summer PJ vibes,’ one woman said.

Brooke said you could play up the look with extra accessories to make it more sophisticated, or else wear the shirts and pants separately – especially with denim.

Brooke’s post had already caused several sizes of the garden tile shirt to sell out.

‘I just looked online and everyone has gone so crazy it’s showing 8-10 in shirts are now only available on click and collect,’ Brooke said.

This isn’t the first time a Target fashion dupe has wowed fans.

Target recently sold out of a $70 denim dress that was nearly identical to a design that luxury brand Aje was retailing for $525.
