Australian Tate McRae fans have been left ‘traumatised’ after the Canadian singer’s Brisbane concert descended into chaos on Sunday.
The Greedy singer, 21, was set to perform at Riverstage when a severe thunderstorm forced concertgoers to evacuate the open-air venue.
Several superfans who paid $500 for VIP tickets have taken to social media to take aim at security on the night and document the debacle.
On TikTok, a one tickerholder named Courtney shared that she had waited over 30 hours in line to secure front-row spots only to be left ‘stressed’ when concertgoers were asked to evacuate the outdoor venue.
‘Everyone was stressed, then security was told to get in places. It was probably 10 minutes before the opener was due to come on. They get on the microphone and say “based on safety concerns blah blah blah, we have to evacuate the venue.” The whole barricade starts sobbing,’ she said.
Courtney shared that her group of friends ended up getting split up as they were forced to retreat to nearby parking lots.
‘We’re all freaking the f**k out. We were told by security to go down the front. They didn’t give a flying f**k that we paid $500 or so for these. Completely voided the VIP experience,’ the fan complained.
She went on to explain that after the storm had passed and crowds were allowed to re-renter the venue, the VIP area was filled with general admission ticket holders.

‘We’ve spent hundreds … they weren’t fans. It was so heartbreaking because this is our person,’ she hit out on TikTok.
In the comments section, other concertgoers also voiced their dissatisfaction.
‘First time I got barricade just to get pushed to the back after the evacuation. Was sobbing the whole time,’ said another VIP ticket holder.
‘As VIP we waited from 3am that day and got barricade. Cried,’ wrote someone else.
‘We saw you in the carpark. It was terribly organised, nothing was stopping them from making it fair. We lined up 14+ hours for general admission, got to about three rows from barricade and ended up on the hill in the end,’ said someone else.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to the venue for comment.
During the ordeal, McRae herself was posting updates to her Instagram Stories
‘The venue is now safe! Please slowly make your way back to Riverstage. Please have you wristband or stamps and tickets ready,’ she wrote on Instagram once the storm had passed
