Taylor Swift gigs music to hotels like Travelodge

Budget chain Travelodge said its hotels have already sold out venues near next year’s Taylor Swift concerts.

Fans are already clamouring to snap up tickets for shows by the superstar.

Hotels in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Cardiff are full as are some sites close to Wembley ahead of the dates next summer.

Superstar tours, such as this year’s concerts from Beyonce and Harry Styles helped it to record half-year results, with earnings up nearly 50 per cent.

Revenues across the group jumped 22.4 per cent to £478.7m in the six months to June 30.

Interim results show Travelodge’s underlying earnings leapt 48 per cent to £104.5m, buoyed by demand related to concerts and events, with the group expecting full-year figures overall to be higher than 2022.

Six Nations rugby, the Grand National and the London Marathon were also big drivers of sales.

Revenue per room, a key performance measure, surged 20.7 per cent to £54.92.
