Taylor Swift kicks off her Eras tour in Glendale, Arizona

The Phoenix suburb of Glendale, Arizona is Swift City this weekend as Taylor Swift, 33, kicks off her record-breaking and highly anticipated Eras tour there with two shows this weekend.

An estimated 150,000 Swifties are expected to descend on the city of 250,000 and the Mayor is here for it – and so is Taylor, who dropped four new songs in celebration of her tour.

‘One of my jobs is to promote my city by being a cheerleader. This ceremonial renaming of Glendale doesn’t cost the taxpayers,’ Mayor Jerry P. Weiers said in a statement to Insider. ‘

‘And it shows that we’re serious about our sports and entertainment district while having fun at the same time.’

Glendale is well prepared to be Swift City. After all, it hosted Super Bowl LVII last month.

‘The beginning of The Eras Tour puts the City of Glendale in the national spotlight again a month after Super Bowl LVII,’ Weiers said. ‘We are expecting more than 150,000 Swifties to visit our sports and entertainment district for meals, the concerts, and a hotel room

Hotels in Glendale are sold out, restaurants are booked up with reservations and Swift City is anticipating a lot of foot traffic.

And TayTay dropped four new songs, three of which are re-recordings of past songs, to hype up fans ahead of her Eras tour.

All Of The Girls You Loved Before is the only song that’s technically never been heard by fans and it gives some insight into Taylor’s nearly seven-year romance with Joe Alwyn.

‘Every dead-end street led you straight to me / Now, you’re all I need, I’m so thankful for / All of the girls you’ve loved before / And I love you more,’ she belts in the song’s catchy chorus.

‘Every woman that you knew brought you here / I wanna teach you how forever feels like,’ Taylor sings in the final verse.

All Of The Girls You Loved Before is an outtake from Taylor’s critically acclaimed 2019 album Lover.

The song begins with Taylor putting herself in Joe’s shoes as to explore the passion and heartbreak he’s endured prior to meeting her.

‘When you think of all the late nights / Late fights over the phone / Wake up in the mornin’ / With someone, but feeling alone,’ she sings.

She continues: ‘A heart is drawn ’round your name / In someone’s handwriting, not mine’

For the pre-chorus, Taylor jumps to the present as she reminisces on her and Joe’s romance and how it’s as if the ‘stars all aligned, they intertwined’ just for them.

In one line, she sings ‘Your past and mine are parallel lines,’ suggesting she’s endured similar letdowns to Joe’s in her previous relationships, as well.

She then jumps into the first chorus, singing: ‘All of the girls you’ve loved before / Made you the one I’ve fallen for / Every dead-end street led you straight to me /Now, you’re all I need, I’m so thankful for / All of the girls you’ve loved before / And I love you more’

For the second verse, Taylor rehashes heartaches of past that’s included ‘Fake love out on the town’ and ‘Cryin’ in the bathroom for some dude / Whose name I cannot remember now’

In the final pre-chorus, she explains that all the drama she went through with her exes John Mayer, Joe Jonas and Calvin Harris was all meant to be so she could become the partner she is today.
