Taylor Swift super fan who couldn’t get tickets to her show secures a job as a security guard

A Taylor Swift super fan who couldn’t get tickets to her show secured a job as a security guard just so he could see her in concert – and earned viral fame along the way, thanks to fellow Swifties who filmed him passionately singing along to her hits.

Like many Taylor fans, Davis Perrigo, an accountant from Nashville, Tennessee, had a hard time securing tickets to her highly-anticipated Eras Tour.

Desperate for a chance to see his idol live, a determined Davis came up with a genius plan so that he could get into the show without even having to buy a ticket – by getting a job at the venue.

He applied to work as a security guard, and was hired – and his new profession not only gave him a front row spot at the singer’s three sold-out concerts at Nissan Stadium on May 5, 6, and 7, but it also turned him into an internet sensation, after fans noticed him having a glorious time.

Videos that showed Davis standing in front of the stage guarding the 33-year-old popstar while trying to contain his excitement were shared to TikTok earlier this month, and everyone quickly became enthralled by his enthusiasm.

One showed him singing every word in perfect time as Taylor belted out her hit I Knew You Were Trouble right behind him.

‘Security guard gives Taylor a run for her money at one of her Nashville shows,’ the fan who captured the footage captioned it on TikTok, where it got more than seven million views.

Another video featured him mouthing the lyrics to Style, while a third saw him dancing along to her song Delicate.

‘This is the most adorable Swiftie security guard. He had everyone in section 112 swooning,’ someone else wrote on the video streaming platform, alongside a clip of Davis that was seen more than 639,000 times.

According to Davis, his eagerness even caught the attention of Taylor’s personal security guards, who ‘reprimanded’ him and told he needed to be more professional.

‘Taylor’s security told my boss that I needed to tone it down,’ he revealed to CNN during a recent interview.

While reflecting on the experience to the publication this week, he explained that he he felt like he needed to ‘find a way to get in’ after failing to purchase tickets during Taylor’s presale in November.

The Eras Tour presale launched a major war between her fans and Ticketmaster – after millions struggled to get their hands on tickets.

According to Davis (seen with some Swifties at the show), his eagerness even caught the attention of Taylor's personal security guards, who 'reprimanded' him and told he needed to be more professional

‘I applied for tickets through the verified fan program, but I didn’t get them like a lot of other people,’ he explained.

‘I knew I still wanted to go to the concert, so I knew I would find a way to get in. The ticket prices were crazy on the secondhand market.

‘I mean, this is the biggest artist in the world coming to town. So I applied to be a security guard at Taylor Swift’s concert.’

While chatting with News Channel 5, he dished on his love for the musician, gushing, ‘My wife, she jokes that I sing Taylor Swift songs with such passion for someone who’s never been broken up with.’

He jokingly admitted to CNN that he wasn’t the best ‘security guard’ because he ‘wasn’t particularly concerned’ about his actual job.

‘To be honest, I wasn’t really going to be a security guard. I wasn’t particularly concerned about security,’ he said.

Davis added that he could ‘still technically do his job’ while getting to witness Taylor’s performance.

Unfortunately, he had to face the audience instead of watching the Blank Space songstress, but that didn’t take away from his experience.

‘I could see it right out of the corner of my eye, I basically had like a front row seat to it,’ he continued. ‘It was awesome. As close as I would ever dream of being really. It was unbelievable.’

As for his future as venue security, he explained that he’s still focused on his profession as an accountant, but would love to keep his position at the stadium as a side gig.

‘There’s a lot of good concerts in Nashville, so I think there might be a future there for me,’ he joked.
