‘Pervy’ New York City teacher who was desperate to stay ‘cool’ had ‘sex with a student’ and ‘gave teenage girls money, alcohol and better grades’
- A former Queens teacher, Peter Muhlbach, 53, had sex with a female student, and lavished others with gifts, even fixing grades for pupils that he favored
- Investigators found that Muhlbach behaved inappropriately with a whole host of other female students in recent years, showering them with cash and gifts
- The teacher would meet them outside of school and ‘like’ provocative social media pictures on their profiles
- The probe into Muhlbach began in December 2018 when an anonymous tipster said the teacher was behaving inappropriately
- Mulbach posted pictures online of himself at a bar with a student
- He was then removed from the classroom in May 2019 and retired in June
A New York City high school math teacher is alleged to have given his students money, drugs and alcohol in order to curry favor with female pupils in his class.
Peter Muhlbach is said to have preyed on teenage girls at Long Island City High School for years and is alleged to had a sexual relationship with one of them.
He then awarded his students good grades in the hope they would remain friends with the man.

The 53-year-old was desperate to appear as the ‘cool teacher’ to the kids at his school and would set about recruiting new teenage companions as each new school year arrived.
Muhlbach was brazen in his antics and would post pictures of himself posting with young female students on his own Facebook page, Special Commissioner of Investigation Anastasia Coleman said.
In one picture posted in February showing two women at a restaurant, Muhlbach joked that he would bring one of them on a trip but was unsure whether he could ‘cross state lines’ with her.
Other photos show the teacher taking photos with his students in his classroom and hanging out at the mall after ‘running into them’.

Investigators say the math teacher’s creepy behavior could be traced back to 2014 when he began supplying a teenage girl at the school with alcohol and marijuana, according to the Daily News.
The pervy teacher is then alleged to have begun a sexual relationship with the girl in January 2015.
The former student is now 24-years-old and told investigators that she moved into his apartment where he ended up paying for her credit card and let her use his car.
The relationship came to an end after discovering Muhlbach was planning to move to Florida and hiding her mail.

The investigation began after Assistant Principal at the school Maria Argyris was contacted by the parents of a 15-year-old girl who discovered intimate text messages with Muhlbach.
Muhlbach called the girl ‘mi amor,’ and said that he ‘missed her’. He wrote how he hoped she would visit him in Florida.
The investigation found how a 16-year-old girl was given $20 in cash. She later posted a racy photo of herself online with heart eyes emojis.
The city say that Mulbach gave another girl $50 for her 16th birthday and told his teenage pupils that they could go out for drinks with him after graduation.
When alcohol or money failed to work their magic, Muhlbach would use grades as bait.
One 15-year-old girl suddenly began earning A grades in her math classes while failing others because she had been absent from school. Her parents became suspicious and teachers began to notice a pattern.

A female student said: ‘if you were pretty and a girl, Muhlbach would offer to give you ‘whatever grade’ you wanted.’
Another student told investigators that he called her his ‘wife’ in front of classmates.
Muhlbach was removed from the classroom and placed in an administrative position in May before he then retired from the Education Department in June. He left New York state altogether to move to south Florida where he now currently resides.
Education Department spokeswoman Danielle Filson called the allegations ‘deeply disturbing,’ and said Muhlbach was ‘removed from the classroom and away from students during the investigation.’
‘The actions and behaviors of Mr. Muhlbach are completely unacceptable and they clearly demonstrate his abuse of authority as a teacher,’ said Special Commissioner Anastasia Coleman in a statement.
