Kyle Sandilands has revealed the moment a bad breakup brought him to tears on air.
Speaking on Wednesday’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, the shock jock, 52, admitted the moment he hit rock bottom while broadcasting a radio show from a ‘caravan in the bush’ after a breakup caused him to flee his radio job in Perth.
‘I needed the money to eat. I had nothing.’
Sandilands then revealed the moment that brought him to tears was when he played Neil Diamond’s iconic song Sweet Caroline on air.
‘And this girl who’d dumped me was named Caroline,’ said Kyle, revealing he cried while announcing the song.

‘It was a terrible moment for me,’ said the radio star.
‘I’m sad, I’ve been ditched, I’ve got no job, I’m two days into a three-day gig in a caravan in the bush, looking out those little caravan louvres, single and destitute.’
The candid disclosure comes after Kyle revealed the shock reason his marriage to singer Tamara Jaber broke down.
The radio king was chatting to listener Laila, who made the racy confession her boyfriend Justin was unable to make her orgasm.
The hosts then got him on the line and Laila told him she had simply been faking her orgasms and he needed to try harder to please her in the bedroom.
Kyle sounded shocked after Laila broke the disappointing news to her partner and attempted to console the heartbroken man with a similar confession of his own.
‘Listen, it’s a shock. I was once critiqued for a sexual act and it broke up my marriage,’ Kyle revealed.

‘I couldn’t root her again. I thought, “I’m giving you everything and I’ve got nothing more in the can”,’ he added.
He remained coy about what the specific act was and would not reveal any more details.
Kyle was married to Popstars winner Tamara Jaber from 2008 until their divorce in 2010 and earlier this year he got remarried, to his current wife Tegan Kynaston.

Last week, it was revealed Tamara is expecting her first child with fiancé Billy Kokkinis.
The aspiring singer, 40, has been flaunting her baby bump on Instagram and is preparing to give birth in a matter of weeks.
She confirmed her pregnancy in August during a romantic babymoon to Kalamáta, Greece, sharing several Instagram photos of herself posing in swimwear by the beach with her bump on display.
