A teenage girl who plunged a knife into her female teacher, 55, has pleaded guilty to attempted murder after smuggling the weapon into school.

The girl, who cannot be named, was aged 14 when she stabbed her victim at Willetton Senior High School in Perth on November 1 last year.

She had allegedly plotted the crime online with another girl, aged 13, on the Discord messaging app for a couple of weeks before the incident.

The younger girl has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder. Her trial is scheduled to start on June 20.

A teenage girl has pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of a 55-year-old teacher at Willetton Senior High School in Perth. Police forensic officers are pictured with evidence bags, leaving the school on the day of the incident on November 1, 2021

Police allege the older girl gave a 25cm knife to the 13-year-old to hide in her school bag. The younger girl allegedly then gave it back later that morning.

The older girl was alone in an office with the teacher when she thrust the knife at her, causing a wound to the victim’s armpit.

The 13-year-old was arrested at the school but the other teen fled before being taken into custody later on Monday evening at about 6.50pm.

Horrified Students recalled seeing blood on the floor and being ordered to ‘get inside and lock the doors’ following the attack.

‘No one knew what was going on, they didn’t tell us anything,’ one told Seven News.

Another student described the injured woman as one of the nicest teachers at the school.

‘I can’t really understand what’s happened,’ she told Nine News.

‘I messaged my sister and she was like ‘yeah, someone got stabbed’. I’m scared. The teacher said to lock the door and everything.’
