Teen goes snow-diving in five feet of snow in Erie

Residents in Erie, Pennsylvania are taking advantage of the record breaking five feet of snow that was dumped on the town in two days.

A series of videos and photos shared to social media show residents in the city that’s populated with 98,593 people doing a number of silly things including snow-diving, making snowmen and just having pure fun.

One clip that’s going viral shows 16-year-old Joe Gusek, who is only wearing shorts, near his family’s hot tub as he prepares to dive into the feet of snow in the town on Tuesday.

Gusek jumps into the snow head first and lands on his stomach. The teen quickly jumps up due to the shock of the freezing snow as he probably regretted jumping into it.

He then runs back to jump into the hot tub and warm up. 

His sister, Rachel, captured the video and wrote: ‘How do us Erieites enjoy the snow storm? Go into the hot tub of course. 

‘This is Joe Gusek, my 16-year-old brother, taking advantage of our wonderful snow day, performing what I think is a perfect snow-dive disappearing underneath the 53 inches-plus of snow.’

He captioned it: ‘I Live in the SNOWIEST CITY IN THE USA! Don’t Believe me….Today we Made National News for getting 57 inches of Snow in the Last 2 days & are expecting 12 more inches tomorrow!’ 

Another woman named Gina in Erie made the top of a snowman’s head and put a yellow hard hat on him. She propped up a cardboard sign in the powder next to him that reads ‘Snowed in send wine!’. 

Adding more to the fun scene, she also put an empty bottle of wine next to the icy figurine.
