Teenage girl, 19, accused of stabbing a cat TWENTY times and then throwing it off her apartment balcony is refused bail

  • She has been charged with torture, beat and cause death of animal

A teenager has been accused of stabbing a cat 20 times before throwing off an apartment balcony. 

Police were called to the home on Mooramba Road, on Sydney’s Northern beaches at about 8.20am on Wednesday, where they found the body of a cat. 

A 19-year-old woman was later arrested and taken to Northern Beaches Hospital for assessment.

She was released into police custody and was taken to Manly Police Station.

She has been charged with torture, beat and cause death of animal, and commit an act of aggravated cruelty upon animal.

She has been bail refused to appear in Manly Local Court on Thursday.

A second cat has been retrieved by police from the home unit and placed in the care of the RSPCA.
